i have my reasons why i´m NOT at facebook or twitter. and if you pin my work on pinterest, please make sure to link it back to me by taking the button on my side: that will bring you to my board with all my art-links. thanks for respecting that.

i consider my blog to be my "artistic diary" - so i can recap what i made and which influences i got (exhibitions etc).

currently i try to publish frequently once in a week (tuesdays mostly)

People with a Google+ account: please leave a direct blog link, otherwise i can´t visit you.

three-muses-challenge: message in a bottle

"message in a bottle" (lyrics: police) reminded me of an old blog entry of me...
i had found some ceramics of jonathan adler called "apothecary of emotion", which i thought was an ingenious idea
(not sure if they are still available, couldn´t find them in the current catalogue)

wouldn´t it be great to be able to store away bad emotions in a well closed jar, or get out some joy in the moment you need it?
(still thinking about to make some real emotion-jars and fill them with bits of paper/writing...)

i made the jars by photoediting (note to self: learn how to distort the labels, so they look more realistic...)
stenciled the words
background stamp old script by judi-kins
thistle stencil by michelle ward
foam stamp on the edges made with tim holtz/sizzix die

  8. What an absolutely brilliant way to cover your error in spelling. It made it even more interesting. I love the idea of having a bottle of joy on the shelf...and it would be nice to put worries in one and seal it up!! Lovely work, as always, Johanna.

  13. Always well thought out and ALWAYS, always interesting, intriquing and beautifully crafted. And on top of all that you opened up a whole new amazing idea of creating emotion jars, Johanna. Now that is really something to explore. Magnificent spread.
