social media

i have my reasons why i´m NOT at facebook or twitter. and if you pin my work on pinterest, please make sure to link it back to me by taking the button on my side: that will bring you to my board with all my art-links. thanks for respecting that.

i consider my blog to be my "artistic diary" - so i can recap what i made and which influences i got (exhibitions etc).

currently i try to publish frequently once in a week (tuesdays mostly)

People with a Google+ account: please leave a direct blog link, otherwise i can´t visit you.

the iceberg of the unconscious & prayer flag

old Jeans and running stitch again

this time the Quality of the paper was not so good (a weekly Magazine, der spiegel), but i liked These turquoise-blue icebergs with the penguins; pic strengthened by laminating on the back

Background for the Quote dyed glasses-cleaning-paper;
font after hours

linking to art-journal-journey and take-a-word ("turquoise")

~~~~~~~
and meanwhile i can Show this prayer flag also, because now it has reached it´s Destination...
just in time for the season of growing: in each stitch i put good wishes for a good success with the plants...
the Carmine red stenciling was made with acrylics. the poppy stencil is from michelle ward (green pepper press) and the letters are from a metallic Alphabet i have for Ages...
various Colors of yarn were used for the sashiko stitching.
base for the poppy part was an old light-colored Jeans.
(there may be some purple stain visible from the pen i used for tracing, but that will vanish by itself within a few days...)
and this one is linked to moo-mania&more
  4. The iceberg is great, and the way you found one that had the penguins on it was fun. Even poor quality magazine images can be strengthened, as you proved.
    Gotta love the poppies. How wonderful that you made this beauty for a friend. Lucky recipient, that's for sure.
    The other day you wondered about my lasagna garden. I explain what it is in today's post, if you are interested.
    Eine ganz, ganz tolle Arbeit mit dem Eisberg und Einstein! Wunderschön!
    UND
    Deine tolle Geschenksidee für Ulrike ist ja der Hammer schlechthin!
    Super sieht das aus!
    Dann sag ich heute gleich mal doppelt danke im Namen von AJJ und MM&M!
    ♥♥♥
    schöne neue Woche!
    ( Ich mach keine Monatsjournale-nö... ich arbeite immer grad da wo's passt.--3 Altered Books hab ich am Laufen 3 Journale und manchmal mach ich einfach nur lose Seiten oder meine geliebten Cerealkeilrahmen)
    ich verstaue alles was fertig ist im Schrak..
    heuer wird es nämlich definitiv fertig ..mein
    ersehntes STUDIO..
    dann wer ich sehen wie ich das ganze Kramzeug schön und nett aufbewahre...
    Aber im Prinzip schau ich es mir eh nicht wirklich an..
    mir ist der Prozess das Allerwichtigste...
    ich hab auch ( bitte nicht weitersagen) schon etliches entsorgt bzw .. weitervendet - also übermalt oder als Hintergrundpapier verwendet...räusper.
    Liebe Grüße
    Susi
  7. Jetzt, da ich glücklich über eine Original-Johanna-Stick-Arbeit sein darf, kann ich diese Arbeit noch viel besser einschätzen - im Original ist alles noch viel schöner, durch die Struktur! Nochmal 1000 Dank!
    Das Eisberg-Stück ist auch wieder fantastisch!
    LG Ulrike
  11. Your prayer flag is magnificent, the stitching is such an integral part of it and it's so effective with the different colours of threads. It looks terrific on Ulkau's balcony.
    Nice use of the iceberg and penguins and use of different colours again. I rather like the "after hours" font, it is very clear and not fussy.
