social media

i have my reasons why i´m NOT at facebook or twitter. and if you pin my work on pinterest, please make sure to link it back to me by taking the button on my side: that will bring you to my board with all my art-links. thanks for respecting that.

i consider my blog to be my "artistic diary" - so i can recap what i made and which influences i got (exhibitions etc).

currently i try to publish frequently once in a week (tuesdays mostly)

People with a Google+ account: please leave a direct blog link, otherwise i can´t visit you.

purple-purple-yellow

... is the Color choice of SOC this week

and this is what i came up with:

the Background of this Piece is spray painted with a stencil, then scanned.
sunflower from my own photos, made into png to remove the sky.
layered in photoshop, added the Quote with font daft brush and a texture overlay from designcuts for framing.
~~~~~~~~~~
another Piece in These Colors:
i stitched this bird (inspired by Ivan semesyuk) in two shades of purple onto a stripe of fabric, on which i had printed a large carved stamp with yellow acrylics.
after stitching i hand-sewed the edges together and so i got a pouch for Holding some mail.
i always have mail Floating around and maybe i should sew more of These...
  2. WOW. You outdid yourself. Your digital art is wonderful, especially since you don't rely on others' photos or images. But the bird you hand sewed on is stupendous.
    Tolle Idee auf Papier zu sticken !
    Erinnert mich an die Stickkarten meiner Kindheit, die hab ich so gern gemacht... kennst Du das noch? Das waren so Packungen da waren Karten aus Karton mit aufgedruckten Motiven und schon geloch und dann die passenden Garnfarben für Kinder...
    Lieben Gruß von
  15. I like both of your images. As a photographer and digital artist, I love what you did with the first one. And as a former fiber artist, I love the stitching on the second.
    Thanks for visiting my SOC this week.
  23. Your sunflower piece is superb, so incredibly colourful and made. I like that the sunflower is your own photo and enjoyed (as always) your detailed description of how you made it. (Daft brush!!! - actually a very good looking font).
    As for the little stitched bird - mega-wow! - and made into a little bag to die for, just terrific.
