i have my reasons why i´m NOT at facebook or twitter. and if you pin my work on pinterest, please make sure to link it back to me by taking the button on my side: that will bring you to my board with all my art-links. thanks for respecting that.

i consider my blog to be my "artistic diary" - so i can recap what i made and which influences i got (exhibitions etc).

currently i try to publish frequently once in a week (tuesdays mostly)

People with a Google+ account: please leave a direct blog link, otherwise i can´t visit you.

cuff finished

i finally finished the cuff i started on my sewing retreat a few weeks ago.
all is handsewn. the dyed cheesecloth is secured with tiny stitches on the rusted fabric.
i dyed some of These textile Buttons with blue silk color:

sewed them on, the cuff got a Little batting inside to give it a Little volume.

first i thought to make a closure with one or two Buttons + button-holes or fibre Loops, but then that didn´t work well with the layout after closure. so i decided to glue on a Strip of velcro fastener. (thought i should fix it with some stitches, did so, but that totally ruined my needle with the glue and i had to throw away the needle afterwards.)
anyway, i like the result.

  4. You may have seen the cuffs my friend Kathy made a few weeks ago. Although they are all bling, they are made from commercial products. Yours is made with products you have dyed, rusted, carefully designed, and put together. I'd take this one ANY day over the ones she made. This is an example of how well rust and blue go together, and an example of a stunning design you created. Sometimes we have to sacrifice a needle to get a perfect cuff (grin).
