social media

i have my reasons why i´m NOT at facebook or twitter. and if you pin my work on pinterest, please make sure to link it back to me by taking the button on my side: that will bring you to my board with all my art-links. thanks for respecting that.

i consider my blog to be my "artistic diary" - so i can recap what i made and which influences i got (exhibitions etc).

currently i try to publish frequently once in a week (mondays/tuesdays mostly)

People with a Google+ account: please leave a direct blog link, otherwise i can´t visit you.

color wheel and an exhibition

i found no time for more travel photos,
so maybe they come at a later Point.
but i continued with my Color wheel...
first i filled up the empty segments,
then i did more embroidery on them:

some details:

currently the days are alternating between sunny
(as the current week is forecasted)
with morning photos like these...

but on the other side there were some really dreary "November rain" days like on saturday, so the best solution was to go to an exhibiton/market with a friend:
we had been there last year and liked it. it is very versatile in its products and you could spend some Money there, if you want to spoil yourself;)
i met Petra hassan again, from whom i bought some wonderful Indigo dyed pieces last year

and couldn´t resist this awesome Little pocket (about tablet size)...
well, actually i could buy the whole booth, all of her fabrics are just gorgeous!
another Thing i bought was this Screen printed kitchen towel (large) from orike muth
some "different" bags and purses, i like their special shapes,
but actually there are no occasions in my life where i could use them...

(same to say about most of the Fashion Outfits there: extraordinary, beautiful, pricey and i´m not attending any Events where i could wear them.)
quite some felted Things,
as this "coral scarf" from

or These cute critters from

also familiar from last year: ruth feile´s children books -
the exhibited originals are sewn with lots of Details.
so charming! if i will ever have a grandchild...

i especially loved the work of rita zepf, who is "painting" or drawing with her sewing machine...

... and the strips from sabine kinder:
and finally a funny booth with paper maché creations from Dorothea Siegert-Binder

(somehow the cake always lands "on" my hips in a different way;))

the figure above is named "coffee to go"
but we finished our trip with a Snack in the Restaurant on the ground floor
salad with various seeds and a pils

  1. Wow, talk about a fantastic art and fabric exhibition/show. That indigo would be hard to pass up. You chose well.

I laughed at the balancing act, and LOVED the animals. Your color wheel is turning out great. I look forward to seeing it finished.

Looks like a lovely meal, too. It was great to see the fun looking salad that somehow seemed to go just perfect with your Pils. Thanks for taking us to this event, sharing your latest embroidery, and sharing your meal with us for T this Tuesday. It looks like you had a fun day.

  2. Der Ausflug hat sich gelohnt - da waren echt tolle Sachen dabei.

  3. A fantastic exhibition with lots of wonderful ideas.

The snack looks great as well

    Happy T Day

    Love Chrissie xx

  6. Your fabric work is fantastic and so are all the photos you shared of the exhibition. So many great ideas.
    Happy T day
    Yvonne xx

    Schönen T-Day Johanna!
    Liebe Grüße

  11. So fun to visit that with a friend... The prices usually derail me.... I know they put alot of work into what they make and deserve what they ask for but most of the handmade things are beyond my reach... Happy happy Tday! Hugs! deb

  12. I always love your variety of embroidery designs. The color wheel is looking great. The exhibit market looks like it had a lot of unique things. Seeing other people's work is always inspirational. The sewn children's books were amazing. Sometimes I have to buy things like that (although they are for children) for myself, just because of the workmanship.

  13. ""coffee to go""! lol I loved that. Just adorable. Sounds like an interesting display. Happy T Tuesday

  14. What a great event! Just up your street!. That indigo dyed bag is lovely. I can imagine you just had to have that.
Tha exhibits are exquisite. What an inspiration! I love the hand felted animals.
Thank you for sharing your experience.
    Happy T-Day,

  15. I adore your colour wheel! What great exhibits - very inspiring! I love the cake on the hips figure! Your salad looks delicious although I would have to go with water! Hugs, Chrisx
