i have my reasons why i´m NOT at facebook or twitter. and if you pin my work on pinterest, please make sure to link it back to me by taking the button on my side: that will bring you to my board with all my art-links. thanks for respecting that.

i consider my blog to be my "artistic diary" - so i can recap what i made and which influences i got (exhibitions etc).

currently i try to publish frequently once in a week (mondays/tuesdays mostly)

People with a Google+ account: please leave a direct blog link, otherwise i can´t visit you.

tribute to the SUN

i HAD to stitch a Tribute to the sun this week.
we had the sunniest march-week you can imagine -
temperatures up to 20°+
(the highest ones since weather is recorded)

which means: i was outside as much as possible.
luckily on saturday we had our monthly flea market.
i had not planned to buy really,
just wanted to stroll around in the sun...
but a few things i couldn´t pass anyway.

some washed out Cloth, which is nice to handle
in hand stitching because of its softness,
for Little Money

a weak spot: old children´s books
with awesome writing and illustrations

and These enamel mugs,
reminding me of my childhood
(we always had our cocoa in such mugs)
~~~~~~~~~~
the garden is a pleasure These days...
(ask timmy;))
he has fully recovered from his injure of a bite from another cat
just a Little part of the oodles of scilla
some wild tulips in between
pulsatilla
and not to forget the Forget-me-nots
nature is exploding!!!
  1. Your stitched tribute to the sun is so beautiful, the colours are perfect! We have had sunshine too and it's forecast to continue for a few days more :-) . Spring is definately here and the flowers in your garden are very pretty. Timmy looks so content lying in the sun, I'm pleased to hear he has fully recovered now :-) . The flea market sounds fun and your purchases are lovely especially your awesome children's book, the illustrations are wonderful! Wishing you a very Happy T Day! J :-)
  2. What a clever, fun post, Johanna. "not to forget the forget-me-nots" - lol. I had no idea what a wild tulip looked like - how interesting. So glad Timmy has fully recovered.
    You had some great flea market finds and created a beautiful stitched sun!
    Happy T-day from the opposite northern hemishpere. Hugs, Eileen
  6. You got all my sunshine, not only with such warm temps, but also through that beautiful art piece you made and sewed. BEAUTIFUL hand dyed fabrics set off by the deep blue background. I am in awe.
    I enlarged the photo of the children's books and am SO envious. This is well worth whatever you paid for them.
    I love those metal mugs. They not only have adorable vintage images, they are colorful, too. Thanks for sharing your sunshine, your trip to the flea market, and those adorable vintage cups with us for T this Tuesday.
  7. eine wunderschöne hommage an die sonne!! besser kann man es gar nicht machen, sie strahlt so viel lebensfreude aus! fabelhaft sind auch deine flohmarktfunde - ich begebe mich ja auch immer auf die suche nach schönen stoffstückchen. bisher war es meist altes leinen, aber seit ich auf den stoffcollagen-geschmack gekommen bin, such ich auch nach anderem und bin auch schon fündig geworden. die tassen sind ja lustig, ich kenne solche nicht. bei uns gab es immer kakao in großen weißen robusten tassen mit blauen punkten drauf!
    liebe grüße, ich wünsche uns weiterhin viel wärmende sonne!
  8. Deine Sonnenstickerei ist fabelhaft ! Diese Sonnenstrahlenstiche sind der Hammer!
    Was für schöne Impressionen der frühlingshaften Natur. Wunderbare Flohmarktfunde... die Tassen sind ja schon echte Raritäten würd ich mal sagen und schön zu hören dass Euer Kater wieder komplett genesen ist!
    Liebe Grüße zu Dir.. heute regnet es bei uns schon... gestern war grad noch ein wenig Sonne.Die letzten Tage haben der Seele so gut getan!
    Aber es macht ja nichts - wir haben ja auch drinnen immer Spaß - ich zumindest liebe es allein zu Hause zu sein mit den Hunden und machen zu können was immer ich will!
    Happy T-Day!
  10. Das sind wohl wilde Vergissmeinnicht, sie sind viel schöner mit den Einzelblütchen, als die gekauften!
    Ja, und ich glaub gerne, dass du an diesen herrlichen Tagen nur im Garten warst - ich versuche auch möglich viel Zeit draußen zu verbringen. Heute Nacht war übrigens wieder Frost hier... und auch die Tage sind nicht so warm wie bei dir.
    Deine gestickte Sonne brennt richtig! Ist sie im Garten entstanden?
    Liebe Grüße von Ulrike
  17. First of all I am glad that Timmy has recovered and is well again. Cats know how to relax.
    Your trip to the Flea Market went well, it makes me want to look around for such a Market here. Old cloth, especially patterned cloth, can be so lovely and soft, these are gorgeous.
    The sun is terrific, you have such a way with embroidery and textiles, all so original.
    And I love to see the photos of the Spring flowers, so fresh and new. I cannot forget Forget-me-nots as they are everywhere in the garden and that is as it should be at this time. I wonder why they have this name in both languages.
