social media

i have my reasons why i´m NOT at facebook or twitter. and if you pin my work on pinterest, please make sure to link it back to me by taking the button on my side: that will bring you to my board with all my art-links. thanks for respecting that.

i consider my blog to be my "artistic diary" - so i can recap what i made and which influences i got (exhibitions etc).

currently i try to publish frequently once in a week (mondays/tuesdays mostly)

People with a Google+ account: please leave a direct blog link, otherwise i can´t visit you.

mixed up...

well, this is a virtual mug...
which i decorated with a Picture of one of the stamps i got this week.
yes, i spoilt myself with some Bowie stuff,
freshly released by the royal mail.

~~~~~~~~~~~~
on friday i was spoilt by Ulrike:
dann wurde ich noch zusätzlich verwöhnt mit post von Ulrike:
isn´t this spring at its best?
vielen ♥♥♥lichen dank, Ulrike!!
and spring really is in full swing...
here the hepatica at my front door.
und der frühling ist wirklich in vollem gange...
ich liebe meine Leberblümchen vor der Eingangstür
(inzwischen bereits durchmischt mit Buschwindröschen)
on sunday i had a walk in a moor nearby.
am sonntag machte ich mit einer Freundin einen Spaziergang
 in einem nahegelegenen moor:
we saw These wonderful large araceae,
Lysichiton americanus,
which are very rare to be found here.
wir entdeckten diese amerikanischen riesenaronstab pflanzen, sehr selten bei uns in Deutschland
and i loved the typha, burst open to spread their seeds.
und wunderschön bizarr sind die Rohrkolben,
die aufgeplatzt ihre flugsamen ausstreuen
 not to Forget the monthly challenge...
i suppose it will be much greener in April!
auch an den 12tel blick habe ich rechtzeitig gedacht,
ich glaube aber, dass sich da im April viel tut in punkto grün!
(hab keine linkliste für märz gefunden...)
~~~~~~~~~
too much going on outside, so the photos i wanted to sort
must wait for time of unfriendlier weather...
~~~~~~~~
die gewinner der preise von letzter Woche:
on sunday i Chose 3 winners of my last post´s prizes,
taking the random Generator:
  Julia (vintage with laces)/albania, mano/germany and
sheila/scotland are the international mix of winners:)
please send me your postal addresses via my email (in my Profile)
~~~~~~~~~
evening work...
i embroidered the Piece i diamond-wove last month.
i love to do this Kind of free embroidery.
i drew the circle with a bowl.
i only sketch shapes free handed onto the fabric, which i follow loosely.
i took 5 Colors of embroidery floss, matching the dyed Background.

some Details:

now this is the forth of this Kind, which makes me think it could become part of a blanket.
(you can find the others on my pinterest board
some edges on the strips might fray a bit, but i won´t mind...

11th blog anniversary

have you had your caffeine today ;) ?

not so much to Show here this week...
i started going through old photos in boxes on the attic (oh my!! some back from Student times... and i really want to get them sorted well, after years of only planning this). i didn´t think this would become such a big affair...
but now i´m into it and want to make it through,

 then i realized i had my Blogging anniversary on sunday:
11 years of making wonderful Connections and
friendships all over the planet!
and though i always say i would write here even it was for me only
 (as kind of an artistic diary),
i truly appreciate all the comments of you,
my valued Readers!! ♥♥♥
until today i think a Connection via Blogging is another one like via Facebook etc.
...
  time for Little prizes ...

so i made three collages ca 5,5 Inch square = 14 cm):
(in real the Background is a bit more into orange,
onion Skin dyed glass wipes,
which i stabilized with freezer paper for stamping and stitching)

if you would like to win one of them,
just leave a comment (you can specify your favorite,
but i can´t give you a guarantee, of course...)
i will draw the winner on sunday, march 26th.
(international welcome!)
good luck!
~~~~~~~~~~
on thursday we had a fabulous spring day,
and as in the evening our monthly stampers´ Meeting was scheduled
i took the Train to munich a few hours earlier.
i spent 3 hours in the eastern cemetery of munich.
it is the largest one in munich and holds almost 35 thousand graves.
 so i only visited a part of it.
due to lack of time i won´t Show pics of the Stones and statues in this post, hopefully next week.
among the graves oodles of crocuses,
and i always enjoy the squirrels there.
this one seemed to teach me: "life is fleeting";)
i couldn´t catch it...
... until a man sat down on a bench and offered him a peanut;)
later i visited MUCA, the first Museum of urban and contemporary art in Germany.
more about this in another post, too.
just a Little teaser for now:
spring has sprung
with the exception of one rainy day (last tuesday)
we had wonderful spring weather.
so time to spend outside
(and no time found for the muster-mittwoch challenge...)
it was chilly in the Mornings, but then lots of sun
and we even could sit on the terrace to have cappuccino and cake.
here a yummy Lemon tarte one of my friends had baked:
the birds are in full Action,
so my medieval embroideries are influenced by this:
obviously the cats also have their scuffles, as sunday morning timmy came home refusing to strain one of his paws. he only hobbled on three legs and we were afraid one could be broken.
so we went to the emergency consultation hour at our vet on sunday afternoon.
but the vet calmed us. she found bite traces (we had not seen) at his shoulder, so obviously he only took a relieving posture to avoid pain. antibiotics and a painkiller injection will hopefully do their work.
the sun already put me in the mood for sun dyeing, but that definitely is too early and too cold.
but i can hardly wait for the day i can start again.
so instead i prepared some tea bags and onion Skin dyed some glasses-cleaning papers for further use.
no fear to run out of stuff in this house:)))
tip toe through the tulips
please take your Cup of coffee (tea, or whatever)
and follow me through the last week.
at first i still have to deliver the second photo in the series "12tel blick" -
which means to make a Picture from the same Position each month.
mein 12tel blick - photo vom 30. Februar muss ich noch nachtragen;)
ich muss mich bei dieser challenge mehr in die mitte des monats bewegen,
sonst kommen mir wetter oder andere Sachen in die quere...
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

below my Patchwork for a german challenge, so a short summery for my english Readers:
i fixed all parts on the fabric Collage of last week (taking the "invisible baste" stitch from jude hill: short at the front, Long on the backside).
the tulips on the Patches were drawn with a fine pencil-like line. i decided to stitch on this with a dark Grey yarn to accentuate, and that gave it a Hand quilted feeling,too.

i had leftovers of the tulips and thought i might make a nine-patch...
on the green squares (old Shirt;)) i stamped (Alpha from teesha moore/zetti) the song line with gumdrop green ink from my favorite things (heat set with iron).

- mal sehen.
