i have my reasons why i´m NOT at facebook or twitter. and if you pin my work on pinterest, please make sure to link it back to me by taking the button on my side: that will bring you to my board with all my art-links. thanks for respecting that.

i consider my blog to be my "artistic diary" - so i can recap what i made and which influences i got (exhibitions etc).

currently i try to publish frequently once in a week (mondays/tuesdays mostly)

better stay inside...

as the weather forecast was very stormy for the last week, i decided to take a long walk with my friend on sunday before. we went through a forest and had the dog of her daughter with us.

Windrad am Waldrand
wind wheel at the outskirts

of course my dog stamp (rbbb) isn´t as beautiful as fynn is in nature
(i noticed i have lots of cat stamps, but only few Dogs)

Downsizing: we gave away our large "bean-to-cup" coffee maker to son#1, it is more used there.
in return he brought us this Espresso maker ...

starting with tuesday the weather really became aweful...
first came rain and wind, then it became extremely stormy and i stayed inside...

nachts voll geschneit, am nächsten tag wieder weggeregnet...
we also had snow, but rain washed it away the next day...

i thought i could tidy up the attic, but i didn´t make real Progress. but i found a tote with old red fabric pieces - i totally had forgotten about: i had started this Hexagon Piece in the 70ies, as you can see not with lasting energy;)

so i decided to cut this Piece for making a Background for my janis Joplin birthday Piece
(she made me survive my youth;))

das bild ist auf Stoff ausgedruckt,
das happy birthday-band ein Überbleibsel von hier
the Picture is printed on fabric,
the happy birthday stripe a leftover from here

the stencilled letters had a tendency to spread into unsharpe edges, so i stitched around them.
ironing the Piece i noticed a bad smell... the flower hexie at the bottom right obviously started shrinking... well, the fabrics of the seventies;)

  1. we are having pretty crazy weather here right now too-the winds are sooo strong at least 60 milea an hour or more.
we must be about the same age I loved Janis Joplin and still do-I Love your piece so much-I tried to print on fabric and did not work at all-I wanted to just do black and white but I guess it has to have color-so need to pick that up next time in town. always enjoy seeing what you put in your journal
    Happy T Day Kathy

  2. I love how you captured your week on your fabric scroll - amazing! They are all fabulous creations and the 70s fabric worked beautifully for the Janice Joplin piece 😁. Oh my, Fynn is so handsome and adorable too 😁. Happy T Day! J 😊

  4. Fynn is one cute pup! Yes, much cuter than your stamp. And I do love all your newest journal pieces. And those hexagons you found looks very 1970's but have an air of fun. I think you can come up with something exciting, if nothing else it's good fodder from some journal pieces. Happy T day. Hugs-Erika

  5. I am SO in awe of your daily fabric and sewing art pieces. What a wonderful way to make art AND remember each day, too.

It's been brutal here, too. Like Kathy, our winds are sometimes nearly 60 mph and are hard to walk against.

I adored the espresso maker you drew by hand, then sewed. It is a fabulous addition to T this Tuesday. Thanks for sharing it and the rest of your days with us for T.

  6. Forgot to say, all my friends tell me I was born a generation too late, since all the songs I love are from the 60s and 70s. So that Janis Joplin entry is fabulous.

  8. In London we are sheltered from the worst weather, but we have still had some snow and strong winds.
Some more great additions for your scroll. I particularly like the one with the wind.
And, yes, Fynn is definitely more beautiful than your stamp! Jx

  10. Gorgeous fabric art pieces, you always add many interesting features and detail for us to see.
I hope your weather is improving, but it sounds just like we have here in the UK right now.
The dog looks adorable and I'm sure he appreciated the walk.
    Happy T day wishes.

  11. Love the Janis piece!!! Her music touched so many and it was a tragedy to lose her so soon. All of your fabric pieces today are fantastic.

  12. What an adorable dog! I'm glad you were able to get out before the bad weather struck. I've wondered if one of those espresso machines would work on my electric stove and have heard conflicting opinions on that. It's a tragedy how so many of the influential figures from our lives die so young :(

    Happy T Tuesday!

Ein süßer kleiner Gauner dieser Jack Russell!

  16. Aww, Fynn is a very sweet looking dog, but I love your comical stamped dog too, Johanna. This is another wonderful panel for your new year scroll. That's a picture-perfect embroidered version of your new espresso maker. Just perfect!

Our weather has turned a bit warmer. Mexico is having one of its coldest winters ever.

Your unfinished hexagon piece reminded me of the 4-foot long by 8-inches wide strip of fine thread crochet I have that was supposed to become a tablecloth. I wish I could figure out an artsy way to use it. You're so clever with fabric art.

    Happy T-day! Hugs, Eileen

  18. It sounds like really cold weather. Good you are able to go out for walks during small breaks in the storm.
Both the expresso maker embroidery and the puffing cloud are so wonderful. Perfect background fabric for the cloud.

  20. I love your daily embroidery. That must have been such a lot of work!
    Your little doggie is gorgeous!
Congratulations on your coffee machine. I recognise it as a Bialetti mocca express. I used to have one when we lived in Italy. It makes excellent coffee (providing you buy the right kind of coffee of course).
We must be of the same generation, as I love Janis Joplin too. She died much too young.
    Happy T-Day.

    Julia

  23. Interesting what you said about the fabric of the seventies, I found some of it faded to white after a little while. The wind wheel embroider and the dog stamp - haha! - and the real dog is adorable too. Your naughty rain cloud is such fun.
