amphibians and reptiles...

in december we had a showcase of amphibians and reptiles at our school. i could take some pics and want to share a few of them here (for animal kingdom at the-3-muses challenge altered animals are asked for, but here i just altered the pics;))

these tortoises were the favorites when the pupils could take some of the reptiles on their hands... did you ever notice that this species has a bow in her neck??! i never realized until i went to edit theses photos, then i started a google research for pictures of this species, and obviously this one was not an exception...

im dezember hatten wir an unserer schule eine amphibien- und reptilienvorführung. diese griechischen landschildkröten-kinder waren die lieblinge der schüler, als sie reptilien auf die hand nehmen durften. ist euch schon mal aufgefallen, dass die eine schleife im nacken haben?? mir noch nie... erst beim bearbeiten der fotos. und als ich dann nach weiteren bildern gegoogelt habe, musste ich feststellen, dass das hier keine ausnahme war...

if you follow my blog, you can see i´m addicted to textures and - more and more - to brushes... i think that comes from my other love, rubber stamping. brushes are like stamps, but can not only change their color (as with various inkpads), you can also alter the size, rotate their angle, distort them, define their opacity... which gives you lots of possibilities! today i want to give you an easy lesson how to make your own brushes for photo editing. above you see some samples i HAD made for myself (from sources i found in the internet, like registration labels etc) [side note: a few days ago i LOST all these brushes i stamped there because i somehow managed to set my photo editing program to default... arghhh!! i swear i had done NOTHING (as always;))... and i had NOT saved the brushes... now i must try to re-gain all these pictures!! so be warned and make frequent savings... i hear my husband repeating this on and on, but seems i must learn it the hard way;)]

actually i learned the important things by watching kim klassen´s free tutorial about making watermark brushes here: http://vimeo.com/26934262
first you open a > new blank white > file (not larger than 2500 x 2500) then you copy your label, cancellation stamp (or whatever you want to turn into a brush) onto this white file. make sure your picture is b/w and has good contrast (edit it this way before, if you have a colored source like a blue airmail label f.e.) take attention that your picture is not too small (you can enlarge it on your "new file" after rasterizing) --- you also could enlarge a brush that is too small, but it will become blurry... so i better enlarge the source for the brush before. crop your image. if you are happy with your source, the final step is making the brush: edit > define brush preset > name your brush and click ok. (if "define brush preset" does not show up clickable, i create a new layer and it will function) before you click the last ok, you can see the size of your brush by the small number on the left: i try to make them not smaller than 500. --- hope that makes sense for you. you will see, it is easy-peasy when you tried some. it is addictive, to say the least;) so much FUN!!

and here is a new brush i just made: i love muybridge´s photos and they come as copyright free images from dover company (booklets with cd). i turned a stripe with goats into a brush and took a photo of a sunset i recently made (not good quality). set the photo on blending mode exclusion, added nancy donaldson´s new texture "pole1" (90° turning) and decided to let the goats walk through the photo. i like it - and it was not much effort to make:)

we had almost no snow so far, so this photo shows our winter quite realistic for crazy amigos challenge "wintercolors".

bei uns war die silvesternacht nass... deshalb hab ich mich an die restbestände von bärenklau gehalten, die mit ihren spinnenförmigen dolden auch ein bisschen wie ein feuerwerk aussehen, zumindest nach der fotobearbeitung;) the night of silvester was rainy... so i took a photo of a withered heracleum, which also looks a bit like a firework after being edited;)

das foto wurde dann auch gleich noch ausgedruckt und auf einem file folder verarbeitet... und auf das "yourself" zeigt zur betonung noch eine hand (damit qualifiziert sich die seite auch noch für die aktuelle creavil challenge) printed the photo and incorporated in a new file folder page... with the best wishes for a great new year (take a word challenge)

aaaah, heute habe ich mal wieder richtig mit farbe und kleber gedreckelt, ein genuss!! leider kann ich es noch nicht zeigen, dauert noch ein bisschen... deshalb nochmal bilder von unserem christbaum. der ist heuer nur mit glas-fliegenpilzen (so 80 bis 100 jahre alt, aus einem antiquitätenladen; so schön, weil wirklich jeder einmalig ist!) bestückt. dazu habe ich noch eine menge schneeflocken mit der tim holtz stanze (die mit dem schneemann) ausgekurbelt und fertig war der baum!! er gefällt mir seeeeeeeeeeeehr!! ich würde sagen, der schönste, den wir je hatten...

today i was really working with paint and stamps and glue... but i can´t show the result yet. so instead i show you some more pictures from our christmas tree. this year it is only decorated with glas mushrooms (from an antique market, about 80 - 100 years old). each one is a bit different, that really makes them unique. the only other things are snowflakes i cut out with a tim holtz die. done!! and i LOVE it!! i think it is the most beautiful tree we ever had...

my relation to snow is ambivalent... i don´t love snow slush or when it freezes to slithery ice... but of course there is the fascination of the wonderful snowfall that dampens the noise and creates a deep silence over the landscape... this photo is from a previous year, we had not much snow so far this winter.
for showing the text better ("silent night..." on kim´s new texture rejoice) i set the "rejoice 2" on inverse... tree brushed free via layer mask.

i just love it when all comes together so well (serendipity, actually...) - this morning we had sunny weather and a bit snow (after some aweful windy days). having monday my day off from school, i took the camera to make a little morning walk. this weathercock was the first picture i shot... ha, perfect for today´s offer at kim´s blog...
i applied the new texture "storm" twice and stamped the matching text brush (blending mode: overlay). i felt it needed a little something on the lower right, so i stamped another brush with little opacity there. done!

heute mal wieder ein file folder. besprüht im sommer, bearbeitung des fotos im oktober (siehe hier), bestempelt und mit ausgedrucktem spruch versehen...
im moment komme ich ja nicht so viel zu "handgemachtem", da mir einfach die zeit fehlt (das liegt nicht an irgendwelchem vorweihnachtsstress, den habe ich nämlich nicht, dafür umso mehr last mit der schule). wenn ich es dann schaffe, mir ein paar minuten für mich selbst freizuschaufeln, reicht es zeitlich und energiemäßig nicht zu mehr als zu ein paar minuten vor dem pc. mit einer bildbearbeitung ist schnell gespielt, da reichen mir manchmal wenige minuten. aber natürlich möchte ich wieder mehr "mit dreckigen händen" gestalten, wird auch wieder, die zeit kommt... und dann hab ich einen bildervorrat angehäufelt, auf den ich zurückgreifen kann und ihn, wie z.b. hier, in journale etc einbauen kann...

leslie from "french kiss" also offers a freebie texture today, and i instantly fell in love with "intrepid". i took this photo of a pomegranate last week and added "intrepid" twice here (brushed off the texture partly over the fruit in the second layer via layer mask).

actually today is cold moon, but that folder page i already made a while ago... so this time i went with the name of the february full moon, the snow moon. (we also have some snow now, but very wet, not supposed to stay.)

i called my photo for this week´s PAF - showcase "bakin´ craze" (below you see the original picture i took on a christmas fair last week, above the altered version with blending mode lighter color and font bleeding cowboys).

i remember the days when the kids were little and enjoyed our chrismas baking. actually for me it was always a bit stressful, too, as we only have a very small kitchen... meanwhile i enjoy the luxury of buying the cookies at my trusted confectioner;) [and no, i do not miss the smell enough to accept the stress therefore;)]

ich liebe ausstechformen (und hab auch eine ganz nette sammlung davon), aber backen mag ich eigentlich nicht (mehr). unsere küche ist definitiv zu winzig, als dass mir das spaß machen würde. als die kinder klein waren gehörte die weihnachtsbäckerei natürlich dazu... aber ich gestehe, dass ich sie schon auch immer etwas stressig fand. mittlerweile gönne ich mir einfach den luxus und kauf mir die plätzchen beim konditor meines vertrauens;) [nein, ich vermisse den duft nicht so sehr, als dass ich mir dafür den stress dafür einhandeln würde, den so manche kampfbäckerin in meiner bekanntschaft hat... in meinem gekauften sortiment liegen viel mehr sorten, als ich in hundert jahren backen wollte... kann mich gar nicht locken;)]

das abgebildete foto (unten im original), das ich letzte woche in münchen auf dem christkindlmarkt gemacht habe, ist bearbeitet mit der blending mode lighter color und als schrift habe ich meine geliebten bleeding cowboys eingesetzt.

relativ spontan machte ich am donnerstag noch einen besuch auf dem tollwood, wo mir diese weihnachtselfe für SPA "über den weg flog". ich fragte am elfenstand, ob ich fotografieren dürfte, und voilà...
wenn ich nicht sowieso wegen des stempeltreffs nach münchen gefahren und nicht vor etwa 2 wochen meine räucherschale kaputtgefallen wäre, hätte ich mir das tollwood diesmal geschenkt. es ist nämlich schon immer wieder das gleiche, zu 90% sag ich mal. da reicht es mir dann, wenn ich das alle paar jahre mal sehe... und tatsächlich war es dann so, dass ich dort keine räucherschale gefunden habe, obwohl ich mir gerade diesbezüglich eigentlich sicher war. ein einziger räucherstand, aber keine schale nach meinem gusto. so war unglaublicherweise der einzige kauf, den ich getätigt habe, ein langos mit rahm (ungarischer hefeteigfladen, sehr lecker).
andererseits: ich konnte wieder ein paar fotos machen. wenn man nett fragt, erlauben es die meisten. vielleicht stelle ich noch ein paar zusammen zum zeigen...

so what i did this week was exploring brushes. excessively. (if i like doing something, chances are good i will do it excessively;))
now i can say: i have a new obsession! so far i loved textures, now i love textures and brushes!!

new nancy donaldson textures in my email account (*rejoicing*)... couldn´t resist to play immediately...
i thought the perfect theme would be to make an homage for freddie mercury, who died 20 years ago. what a voice - what a man!!! listened to teo torriatte several times (wonderful ballade, not heard as often as the biggest hits), while looking for pics in the net and also found the queen font to fit the collage.

blended the photos together and added nancy´s "garage 2" texture (will be published on her flickr these days...). brushed out (layer mask) the texture from the faces and gave it a little twist with the color balance adjustment into red. *hey, freddie, hope you rest in peace... but could you please rehearse some new songs for welcoming us in heaven one day;)*

neue texturen von nancy heute in meinem email-account... musste sofort eine ausprobieren. und da es sich anbot, hab ich eben mal eine homage zum 20. todestag von freddie mercury gemacht. hab immer wieder teo torriatte laufen lassen (eine wunderschöne ballade, nicht gar so ausgelutscht wie die bekanntesten hits), während ich nach bildern gegoogelt und auch den queen font entdeckt habe.

in the month of april the full moon is called "pink moon" (an early spring flower called "moss pink" started to bloom). i googled the flower and found out that we have a similar postage stamp which really fits this bloom very well. on friday (after an odyssey of 7 seven weeks) i got wonderful mail from patty (thank you so much!!), including a magazine with this wonderful photo of a young native american girl - which was perfect for this layout.

seit wochen haben wir konstantes, eigentlich schönes spätherbstwetter. eigentlich, weil wir hier in einem "nebelloch" wohnen - oft ist es ein paar kilometer weiter bereits total sonnig, aber hier kämpfen die lichtstrahlen oft vergeblich... heute habe ich schon beim frühstück die schönen raureifnetze und -überzüge erspäht und musste sofort raus... hier eine kleine impression...

again i played with the new textures from nancy donaldson (i really was challenged with the first one... found it hard to find a picture fitting the "knitted & drawn" texture...). and with these i can also show my "go-to" technique (for PAF) i use on almost every photo: i am switching through all blending modes and searching the one that appeals to me most, AND: i often use a layer mask to brush a part of the pic free from texture. so here: the flower and the ladybug are "brushed free" several times.

the ladybug photo is a homage at our domestic species of these insects (the red ones with the seven black spots). currently we have an invasion really with the asian species (harmonias), which are a little bigger (and colored in some variations) and probably will become a problem for our native ones. i found this one on my walk last week, the whole sunny edge of the forest densely populated with the harmonias.

took twice the text layer from nancy donaldson for this one plus another one from flickr, and brushed free the beetle from each texture.
dieser einheimische siebenpunkt ist eine homage an unsere marienkäfer, die gerade heftig verdrängt werden von der etwas größeren asiatischen art. zwar sind diese auch nützlich hinsichtlich blattlausvertilgung, aber "unsere" find ich viel schöner... vielleicht nostalgie, denn schon aus unseren kinderbilderbüchern waren sie nicht wegzudenken... letzte woche war ich auf meinem spaziergang am sonnigen waldrand wieder eingekreist (ja nicht den mund aufmachen! super lästig!!) von den "zugezogenen" und umso erfreuter, doch auch noch einen "eingeborenen" zu finden...

i found this site which told me that there are special names for the full moon during each month of the year:
"The names for the Full Moon were made up by the Algonquian tribes of Native Americans. Most of the Algonquian people hunted and fished to get food, but some also grew crops. The names they had for the Moon are related to nature & the seasons, hunting & fishing, and farming. The Algonquian people lived all over the northern and eastern parts of North America. When settlers from Europe met up with them, some of the settlers started using most of the same names for the Full Moon."

so for the full moon of last week the name is "beaver moon"...

i wanted to make a little something for the girlfriend of my son... she´s such a wonderful young woman, a very creative soul and always appreciating my works. so i made this fabric scroll around a wooden bobbin, as she is a quotes lover like i am. this way i could combine some of my favorite media: i printed out some of the photos i made and edited recently (onto fabric), searched for some quotes (typed them onto scanned spraypainted backgrounds, also printed them on fabric) and sewed these alternating onto a long yellow piece of fabric.
(i´m a bit early, but as the theme of take-a-word on monday will be "sewing", i offer this one for my contribution)

the last part of the fabric is glued to the bobbin, the rest is wound around the spool and can be held together with a ribbon i fixed in an eyelet

at the end i glued matching pictures at the top and bottom of the bobbin...

für die freundin meines sohnes wollte ich ein geburtstagsgeschenk machen - sie ist so eine liebe und kreative und immer ganz angetan von meinen sachen... deswegen war klar: sie kriegt etwas selbstgemachtes.

wie ich liebt sie sprüche, deswegen hab ich mal ein paar zusammengetragen (als oberbegriff kristallisierte sich "buddha" heraus...). hab die sprüche auf ausschnitte meiner gesprayten & gescannten hintergründe getippt und auf stoff ausgedruckt. ebenso auf stoff gedruckt sind die miniaturen meiner kürzlich fotografierten und bearbeiteten fotos... so konnte ich mal wieder prima meine verschiedenen leidenschaften kombinieren... habe die bilder und sprüche abwechselnd auf ein langes gelbes stoffband genäht, dieses an eine hölzerne garnspule geklebt. dann lässt es sich aufwickeln wie eine spruchrolle. am schluss sorgt ein eyelet mit einem bändel dafür, dass die rolle zusammengehalten wird. oben und unten noch ein passendes bild drauf geklebt, fertig.

i often work quite cumbersome in achieving a certain result (to tell the truth: too lazy to read or explore instructions...). same here. i found the grid background somewhere online and thought that looks awesome. couldn´t figure out how to get my photos into the rounded edges. so i gave my pics a black ttv-frame first, then i could fiddle them into the black placeholder. sure there are better methods;) but as i said: cumbersome. that´s what i am sometimes. but i get my results;)

the colored splashes are brushes, easy to make.

when i shot the blossom photos in spring i had no idea that i would dig into photo-editing this year. and i enjoy it so much!

creavil challenge: art journaling

ich bin wieder zurück aus bad aibling (dort befindet sich karolas oase, der schmelmer hof) - es war wie immer wunderschön... mit ca. 15 gleichgesinnten und viel platz zum ausbreiten ist es der traum jedes stemplers:)
ich habe dort ein paar scrapsquares gemacht, die in der nächsten zeit auf meinem anderen blog erscheinen werden, und ein paar file folder bearbeitet, aus denen ich ein journal binden möchte.

die neue creavil-challenge für die nächsten 2 wochen heißt art journaling... das passt dann ja:))
obwohl ich meine artjournals nicht eigentlich als "persönliches tagebuch" (im sinne von "diary") sehen würde, denn die ganz privaten sachen (mache ich zwar auch) stelle ich nicht hier öffentlich aus. ich betrachte die artjournals eher als eine art "magazin", aber im wesentlichen ist es wohl einzuordnen unter dem, was in der blogwelt so als artjournal geläufig ist. häufig benutze ich sprüche (mag ich einfach sehr gern) und bilder (in letzter zeit v.a. selbst bearbeitete), so kann ich prima verschiedene leidenschaften kombinieren. der hintergrund ist bei einer sprühorgie im sommer entstanden und mit ein paar stempeln aufgepeppt worden. ich liebe diese file folder, mal ein größeres format (din-a-4), auf dem ich mich austoben kann...

my next post won´t be before middle of next week... i´m away for a stamping retreat for a few days with some members of the munich stamping group. i will ink, stamp, cut & glue and mess around to my heart´s delight... no pc, only working with my hands - i plan to make some journal pages and scrapsquares, which i neglected a bit recently...

so i´m in great anticipation and hope you will have a great week, too!

bis mitte nächster woche verabschiede ich mich mal aus blogland... ich fahre mit ein paar anderen mitgliedern unserer münchner stempelgruppe auf einen stempeltreff in ein hotel im voralpenland... das ist immer eins meiner highlights des jahres - kein pc, aber die stempel qualmen lassen, nach herzenslust schneiden und kleben, alles liegen lassen können - beste verpflegung, kurze nächte... möchte ein paar journalseiten machen mit meinen file foldern, die ich im sommer besprüht habe, auch scrapsquares habe ich in letzter zeit kaum gemacht... bin voller vorfreude und hoffe, auch ihr habt eine schöne woche!

the upcoming theme for take-a-word is blackbirds... so i made this storyboard with photos of the magpie my cat killed recently. positioned some bodyparts on spray painted backgrouds and arranged the squares digitally.
(the biologist in me knows that magpies belong to the bird-family of corvidae, but the "real" blackbirds are turdidae. but both are in the order of passeriformes... so far about things you did not want to know *g*)
diese bildersammlung habe ich gemacht mit fotos der toten elster (als model auf gesprayten hintergründen), die mein kater letztens gefangen hatte. die kommende woche geht es bei take-a-word zwar um "blackbirds", genaugenommen also amseln... aber das schert ja wohl keinen. nur die biologin in mir muss hier ein bisschen korinthenkacken, denn während amseln zur familie der drosseln gehören, sind elstern rabenvögel - allerdings gehören beide zur ordnung der sperlingsvögel. was ihr noch nie wissen wolltet *g*...

das hoch "sepideh" (ein weiblicher persischer vorname, den ich bisher auch noch nie gehört hatte) beschert uns dieser tage den denkbar schönsten altweibersommer. allmählich hat es sich wohl herumgesprochen, dass dieser terminus nichts mit alten weibern zu tun hat, sondern vom althochdeutschen "weiben" (= weben, von spinnennetzen) abgeleitet ist.
noch sind viele blätter grün, aber jetzt geht es dann ratz-fatz... und ich erwarte (hoffentlich morgen...) das eintreffen meiner neuen fotokamera... die hab ich mir verdient;)
there is no exact equivalent to the german term "altweibersommer". it translates literally "old ladies´ summer", but actually it is deriven from "weiben" = "weben" in modern german, which refers to spiders´ webs. it comes closely to the "indian summer", which actually is a bit later and is associated with the colorful autumn leaves. well, we have the sunniest weather here, i could take photographs from morning to night (and i hope tomorrow will come my new camera...).

on monday suddenly i heard loud bird alarm at our front door. i wondered what happened and saw that our tomcat had caught a magpie. ugh, that cat can drive me crazy killing birds!! but then i saw the possibilities (i will go straight to hell, i know)... so this actually is not a "raven" claw... i positioned it on a background paper i spray painted recently. layered with two free textures from flickr, ugglove from kim klassen and font is zombified. (find the other PAF contributors here; and the font name should qualify it for the upcoming zombie theme at SPA, too *g*).
edit: i just wanted to comment on the other entries, but at some blogs blogger won´t let me!! arghhh!! i´m getting frustrated with it!
am montag war plötzlich großer vogellärm vor der haustür. ich schau nach und muss sehen, dass unser kater eine elster erlegt hat. ich könnt ihn erwürgen, wenn er vögel fängt!!... aber dann sah ich die gelegenheit (ok, ich werde auf direktem weg in die hölle kommen). statt lange sinnlos mitleid mit dem vogel zu haben, tja nun... das foto zeigt also keine "raben"klaue... fotografiert auf kürzlich gespraytem hintergrund, mit texturen von flickr und kim klassen bearbeitet und dem font zombified beschriftet (deswegen zählt es auch zum kommenden sonntagsthema bei SPA, "zombies" *g*).

theme over at the 3 muses is "moon". spray painted file folder, the background stamp of the luna moth is from meer image, the moon-picture is from stampscapes (it came ready to cut out;)), text is die cut and printed. the big butterfly wing that i used for stenciling was from an wooden toy (maybe you know these animals - dinosaurs etc. - who are assembled sticking together various parts, looking a bit skeletal...)

this upcoming week take-a-word challenges us to take album photos... i decided not to go with my family, but to take pictures of marionettes from scott radke (featured in an older issue of art-doll-quarterly), because i like their melancholy expressions very much. [i really would love to own one of them, but they sell out faster than i get a chance...] - i took a file folder i spray painted recently, text is die cut respectively printed. stamps are from dylusions and art journey. added some tinted cut-outs from an old biology book.

ich war gestern zum stempeltreff in münchen, und schon auf dem bahnhof bei uns war klar: es ist wiesenzeit... je näher an münchen, desto heftiger die verkleidungen. fasching teil zwei.

am münchner hbf hab ich dann einfach mal meine kamera an meinem oberschenkel baumeln lassen bei ausgeschaltetem blitz und einfach drauf losgeknipst (deswegen schräg und unscharf;)). viele waren schon beim "vorglühen", damit der rausch nicht ganz so teuer wird... na ja, leben und leben lassen, wie der bayer sagt. aber zugfahren nachts ist dann kein spaß, "des glaubst!"

mein beitrag für SPA basiert auf einem bild eines unbekannten künstlers anfang des 20. jahrhunderts. diese vexierbilder mit schädeln waren damals als vanitasmotive sehr verbreitet. ich habe das bild mit verschiedenen texturen von kim klassen gelayert und die schädelherzen-brushleiste oben angefügt. benutzter font ist you all everybody.

the base for my contribution is an old picture of an unknown artist, dated about the beginning of the 20th century. this kind of vanitas pictures symbolized the vanity of worldly things and the brevity of life. i layered the picture with various textures from kim klassen, added the skull-heart brushes on the top and used the font you all everybody for the text.

"120 kilo blau"... soooo ein schönes lied!! michael fitz hat sich hier von seiner malenden frau inspirieren lassen, die ihre pigmente online kauft und sich dabei dem hindernis der mindestbestellmenge ausgesetzt sieht (bei ultramarine 60 kilo *g*... ich sollte ihm mal die adresse von kremer.de zukommen lassen... aber das gäbe natürlich nicht so ein schönes lied) ... angeliefert, *nur mal nei gschaut*, auf der palette stehen lassen, regen, das schöne blau schwemmts dahin... köstlich!! (kennen wir das nicht alle... ich könnte einen farbenladen aufmachen;))

schade eigentlich...

dass dieses lied das vorletzte war, und er eigentlich erst da sein publikum richtig gepackt hatte...

gestern war ich zum ersten mal auf einem abend mit einem bayrischen liedermacher. kabarettisten - ja (zimmerschied und schwarzmann sind da meine favoriten), aber einen liedermacher hab ich seit der studentenzeit nicht mehr gehört (ich bin im alter von fitz). aber wenn sich schon mal einer in die kleinstadt verirrt... man ist ja dankbar, nicht immer "in d´stood neifohn" zu müssen... und der michael fitz hatte ja einen ziemlichen sympathievorschuss bei mir (kannte ihn allerdings v.a. vom tatort und ein paar interviews).

leider hat er den ein klein bisschen verspielt. und zwar mit "selber schuld":

kommt auf die bühne und begeht sofort das erste kardinalsdelikt (bin ich da kleinlich?): während er das publikum begrüßt, fummelt er noch gefühlte 2 minuten an seinem i-phone-o.ä. rum... ich dachte erst, das gehört schon zum programm - bis er es dann weggelegt hat, ohne mit einem wort drauf einzugehen. ähhh?? signal für mich: was anderes ist ihm jetzt wichtiger (dann soll er meinetwegen erst ein paar minuten später auf die bühne rauskommen und vorher seinen anderen krempel erledigen... aber so...) - auftakt verpatzt...

gut: das programm war einwandfrei. musikalisch wie inhaltlich. die texte doch eher nachdenklich, anregend (näheres hier). PASST. allerdings hab ich mich die ganze zeit gefragt: warum kann er das publikum nicht so richtig "packen" (das war nämlich erst in der schlussphase der fall)? nach meiner beobachtung lag es daran, dass er zu wenig augenkontakt mit den leuten aufgenommen hat. er hat ziemlich lange auf der bühne einfach allein vor sich hingemacht (die stimm-schrauberei an seinen ungefähr 6 gitarren hat er zwar mit gebrabbel überbrückt... wäre auch ganz ok gewesen, aber letztlich war er nur auf die gitarren konzentriert - am publikum erschien er mir ein bisschen wenig interesse gehabt zu haben...). sobald er ins publikum geschaut hat und es auch mit einbezogen hat, wurde es sofort besser. hätt er früher machen sollen...

na ja, vielleicht wars einfach nicht sein bester tag. ich kann mich natürlich total irren, aber ich hatte das gefühl, er war froh als es vorbei war, nix wie weg hier... schade. das publikum in der "provinz" wäre durchaus dankbar, wenn er seine zeit mit ihm "bewusster" genutzt hätte... aber wer ist der mittelpunkt der welt? na??

theme for this showcase "photo art friday" should be free, but might be related to 9/11...
for my first photo for PAF i chose a pic i shot in a museum of religious art recently. i titled it "memento mori", which actually is corresponding to the thought of "carpe diem"... if we are conscious about our mortality, we can live our life with more awareness. we take too much for granted, but nobody knows what tomorrow will bring...
i edited the photo with free textures from flickr, the font is 1454 gutenberg bibel, the brushes (tapes) are freebies from the internet.
es gibt kein thema für das foto, das heute gezeigt werden soll, man kann sich aber - so man möchte - an 9/11 orientieren...
ich habe ein bild ausgewählt, das ich vor kurzem in einem museum für religiöse kunst gemacht habe. der sensenmann als verkörperung des "memento mori"... je bewusster uns unsere endlichkeit ist, desto intensiver eigentlich auch in der umkehrung das "carpe diem". wir nehmen immer viel zu viel als selbstverständlich, dabei weiß keiner, was das morgen bringen wird...
das foto ist komplett bearbeitet mit freebies: texturen von flickr, brushes (die "tapes") aus dem internet und der font heißt 1454 gutenberg bibel.

und so sehen zur zeit meine bilder aus... ich liebe die distelsamen, sie schauen so schön verwuschelt aus. das foto ist bearbeitet mit einer textur von pdpa ("pow!"), einer ttv textur von flickr und der font ist pea sugar noodles.

das reguläre bild für PAF gibt´s natürlich erst morgen...
